Dr. Milan Patel is a board certified Psychiatrist. Originally from Indiana, Dr. Patel graduated with honors from Wabash College, where he was the recipient of a full academic scholarship from the prestigious Eli Lilly Endowment Foundation. After graduating from medical school at Indiana University, Dr. Patel completed his internship and residency training in Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Beyond his training as a physician in Psychiatry, Dr. Patel completed a six-year post-graduate program in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute.
Following his residency, Dr. Patel served as the Medical Director of a community psychiatric organization in underserved areas of Brooklyn. There, he provided in-home treatment for high-risk patients and their families. He currently serves as the Head Psychiatrist for disadvantaged teens in foster care at several residential facilities. Dr. Patel has served as a Clinical Instructor in the Emergency Room setting, providing care for psychiatric patients, as well as teaching resident physicians and medical students.
